Kitchen Islands are taking over. Hardly would you see a modern kitchen without an island.
A kitchen island is an unattached counter at the middle of the kitchen that can be accessed from all sides, which is used to prepare food or as an alternative to a table.

It can be used as a table, to house kitchen appliances , additional cabinets and not forgetting beauty.

When designing a kitchen Island, the space of the kitchen should be taken into consideration for ease of body movement, not because Mrs A has a kitchen island Mrs B must have, if your kitchen isn't big enough please hands off to avoid touchy body things in the kitchen. Thank you.
